the bank
the birdies on this are just adorable. there is a periwinkle and purple banner in such beautiful purples the "cork" is so well designed for a bank: it is a hard plastic and will not fall out. one side of the bank (with 2 beautiful birds and some potted lettuce), in that beautiful periwinkle color reads «first peter ate some lettuces, then he ate some radishes». the other side shows peter doing exactly that: eating salad, well connoted. i think the savings theme might have a relationship to peter escalating what he eats from lettuce to radishes. the underside is marked as follows: all underglaze a script «n» (probably the ceramicist's mark); «21» (maybe painter's number). «peter rabbit
