Vintage Orange Juice For Baby Ceramic Pitcher Without Matching Reamer Circa 1920

Description

Here’s an old “Orange Juice” child’s ceramic pitcher. Its matching juice reamer didn’t survive its journey from the early 1920‘s. The pitcher can double as a cup or simply display it with your collectibles. This adorable pitcher/cup features a cat and a dog setting under a red umbrella with Orange Juice printed just below. The bottom is signed “Made In Japan” and there are numbers in a circle which appear to be 15/49? Not sure of these numbers as their are very faint and hard to make out. There are a few manufacturing defects to be pointed out and noted. Looking at the back exterior of the pitcher you can see a slight crease in its molding (pictured). On the interior side of the crease there appears what looks like a thin horizontal line or crack (pictured). This defect was glazed over during the glazing of the pitcher. There’s a tiny hole in the interior lip area just to the left of the pouring spot (pictured). This manufacturing defect is smooth to the touch and has be glazed over. Crazing has occurred on both the exterior and interior surfaces. The aging process can be seen in the discoloring of the surfaces which has occurred over time. From handle to handle the pitcher measures approximately 5 inches across. Its diameter at the base measures approximately 3¼”.
