    Description

    Up for auction today is a Vintage Marbles Safety Hatchet no.5 "pocket Axe" in great condition with light use. It is marked Marble's Gladstone,Mich. USA NO.5 on the head as seen in the photo. It has a 3 hole hickory wood handle and head. It is 10-5/8" overall and is still very tight and very usable. The cutting edge is 2-1/4" wide. The weight of this pocket axe is 16 ounces and the guard has the lead edge protector inside. It has not been overly cleaned or polished.Unique blade guard that folds into the handle eliminating the need for a sheath. Looks like Marble knives and axes are no longer made in the USA of September 2009. This one was made in the USA. Please reference the pictures for more information. Thank you for looking.
