SHELLEY - 1930s - 2196 - DAINTY PHLOX - YELLOW FLORAL DAINTY SHAPE TEA CUP - NR

Tonight I'm happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Shelley, Mid 1930's - "Dainty Phlox"  - Yellow Floral Dainty Shape Tea Cup and Saucer.
2166 EXTREMELY RARE! - EXCELLENT CONDITION! - NO RESERVE!
This graceful and elegant tea cup is in excellent condition, on inspection, I could not find a mark on the cup or saucer.
The set is is Dainty shape featuring a deeply scalloped blue detailed handle and rim. The main color of the set is a crisp white featuring a surrounding pattern of shaded yellow flowers and green leaf details - the saucer mirrors the the floral details of the cup and is in excellent condition with no damage, repairs or restorations.
The set is listed in the Shelley Tea Wear book as 'Phlox' first introduced in 1935.
I would safely guess that the set dates from the mid 1930's. The set is marked on the bottom with the familiar Shelley banner mark, England, the number -2196-.
Shelley has always been known for fine quality porcelains and this delightful and enchanting example will not disappoint even the most discerning collector.
