Description
This is an unusual early plastic celluloid ladies pin in the shape of 2 gorgeous rough coat Brussels Griffon dog faces. This pin would look great with jeans..or even a fancy dress outfit. The finish is somewhere between a high gloss and a matte. It absolutely gleams in almost any light....but stops short of sparkling. However, in the pic above any tiny white marks that you see were caused by light reflections within my camera. Like all BGs ... these two are endowed with personality PLUS as the pin design makes clear! Measurement is approximately: 2" wide. On the back is an intact pin with a plain clasp. At the time this was made, safety clasps had not yet come into general use. This pin was found in an estate sale. I was told that it dates back to the 1930s and that it was originally made in the USA. Aside from a few tiny signs of surface wear on the dog's eyes' paint, this pin is in amazingly excellent condition considering its age and composition. As a buyer myself...I am sick of receiving jewelry pins in bubblewrap bags that almost guarantee broken clasps. Your pin will arrive at your house in a sturdy box and the clasp will be intact. My buyers are mostly dog people which means they are THE BEST... and in my book they deserve the best!
