This auction if for a vintage creamer in the shape of George Washington, made for the American Potter exhibit at the 1940 New York World’s Fair, as indicated by the mark on the bottom. The creamer is about 4.5” tall and has an ivory glaze. There are no chips or cracks. According to info I found on the internet, ceramics at this exhibit were created on the spot and sold as souvenirs. American Potter was a collaboration of Homer Laughlin China Company, Knowles, Hall, Cronin, and Paden City, through the National Brotherhood of Operative Potters.
