) are one of the most minimalistic, beautiful & effective insert we've yet to come across for the price and it does the job well.  The size of this stove is for large size masonry chimneys and the viewing glass & burn time is quite sufficient to enjoy a beautiful fire all the while keeping your moderate size home (up to 2100 sq ft) warm.
If you've already researched about the Drolet 1800-i and know what you're buying, look no further as this set has everything you need.  If not, hopefully the following information will help you keep it simple as purchasing a fireplace insert can be overwhelming as it was for my wife & I when we had purchased our first Drolet 1500i, which is the baby brother of this 1800-i unit.  That said, even if you don't purchase from us, if you have any questions about any insert or learning to maximize your wood burn time, please feel free to msg us as we thoroughly love & enjoy this lifestyle!

INSERT SIZE:
(Width X Height X Depth: 28.375 x 23.125 x 26.375 inches) If you don't mind the stove sticking out of the fireplace a little, I would worry most about the width and height.  Despite not being perfectly deep enough, the box can still work with the chimney if you don't mind the stove sticking out on the hearth a bit.  This is what we actually prefer as it renders a more organic look as well as having more of the metal box exposed to the inside to capture more warmth.  In such case, you would NOT be able to use the faceplate as it would not fit flushed against the wall.  I also don't mind this at all since from my experience, the faceplate doesn't affect the efficiency so long as you cap off the vent well.  Also, the faceplate takes away from the organic look of the stove in this situation.
LOG SIZE:
It's advertised to only fit 20 inches side to side but on occasions, you can go 22 inches diagonally when you just want a casual fire rather than a fully stuffed box to achieve maximum heat output.
OUTPUT
:
75,000 BTU.  Heats up to 2100 sq ft. EPA 2020 Certified being that it emits under a certain amount of CO2 per hour.  This unit emits 1.54 grams of CO2/hr.  This unit is advertise for up to 8 hours of burn time but you can definitely retain the embers for a little over 10 hours to allow for an easy restart after your sleep.
BLOWER FAN (included):  144CFM
Of all the fans out there, I prefer this type the most as it turns on automatically like most fans when the unit reaches a certain temperature but it also allows you to switch it off should you not care for the fan to be on.  The noise level on this is just perfect when it's low to medium and variably increases as you turn up the knob.

that flushes with your chimney for a clean fit.
