) are one of the most minimalistic, beautiful & effective insert we've yet to come across for the price and it does the job well.  The size of the stove are for medium size masonry chimneys and the viewing glass & burn time (in my opinion) is quite sufficient to enjoy a beautiful fire all the while keeping your moderate size home (up to 1500 sq ft) warm.
If you've already researched about the Drolet 1500-i and know what you're buying, look no further.  If not, hopefully the following information will help you keep it simple as purchasing a fireplace insert can be overwhelming as it was for my wife & I when we had purchased our first Drolet 1500i.  That said, even if you don't purchase from us, if you have any questions about any insert or learning to maximize your wood burning experience, please feel free to msg us as we thoroughly love & enjoy this lifestyle!

INSERT SIZE:

(Width X Height X Depth: 27.25 x 21.25 x 22.375 inches) If you don't mind the stove sticking out of the fireplace a little, I would worry most about the width and height.  Despite not being perfectly deep enough, my chimney is a 30 wide by 22 inch height and it fits it perfect with the stove sticking out on the hearth about an inch.  In such case, you would not be able to use the faceplate as it would not fit flushed against the wall.  I don't mind this at all since from my experience, the faceplate doesn't affect the efficiency as much as others may suggest.
LOG SIZE:
It's advertised to only fit 18 inches side to side but on occasions, you can go 20 inches diagonally when you just want a casual fire rather than a fully stuffed box to achieve maximum heat output.
OUTPUT

65,000 BTU.  Heats up to 1800 sq ft. EPA 2020 Certified being that it emits under a certain amount of CO2 per hour.  This unit emits 1.26 grams of CO2/hr.
BLOWER FAN (included):  90 CFM
Of all the fans out there, I prefer this type the most as it turns on automatically like most fans when the unit reaches a certain temperature but unlike most other fan design on other inserts, it also allows you to adjust the speed or switch it off altogether should you not care for the fan to be on.  The noise level on this is just perfect when it's low to medium and variably increases as you turn up the knob.

This plate easily attaches to the stove and should fit flushed with most chimneys to cover up the gap between the stove and the chimney opening. This is the standard look for most inserts.  However, my masonry chimney is just 2 inches short of being deep enough for a flushed installation so we didn't simply didn't use it which is totally fine.
