Robust, Unique, Bespoke and Designed Specifically for the IC-R30
I am a owner of frequency scanner's and I do try to take good care them.
But I get frustrated when using other longer antennas.
They gets a little top heavy and have a tendency to want to topple over !
I’ve used them with external antennas too, but the weight of the coax can pull them over too.
So I lay them down on my desk which is not the best angle to view the screen and the text.
So to overcome these issues I Design and Print a 3D Stand that's a perfect match to the Radio..
Designed around the radio's every contour.
There is a shallow base for it to sit in and a pocket in the back to accept the belt clip.
Making these designs very robust & secure and yet still very comfortable to use...
Is it perfect? NO... It is printed !
Printing Models is a form of Rapid Prototyping. ie TEST
So there are signs in the plastic that show fine lines or layers.
But it’s a pretty good job and more importantly: It is…. “Fit for Suppose”
You can add 4 rubber feet for extra grip on your desk.
Use long Antennas or Coax, with Speaker Extension and a Power Supply all together with no problems.
See the screen clearly with it held at a reclined angle :)
