This is a BUSINESS CARD from CAR CITY RECORDS in St. Clair Shores MICHIGAN with TOP DOLLAR PAID in DETROIT
It was pretty great -
Car City Records was a music store in Detroit, Michigan, carrying a variety of mediums: 78s, 45s, CDs and cassettes.
Among its customers, the shop's staff earned a reputation for their wide knowledge base about the multitude of musical categories offered there, including pop, classical, jazz, R&B and more.
Just drove up Harper today where Car City Records should have been, but did not see it.
Anyone hear if it's still there or not?
I tried calling the number and got no answer around 7pm, but they would probably be closed.
You'd think, though, they would have an answering machine to give the store hours if they were still in business.
WE REGRET THAT CAR CITY RECORDS WILL BE CLOSING SEPT. 30 AFTER A VERY LONG RUN OF NEARLY 30 YEARS ON THE GLORIOUS EAST SIDE.
NO REASON OTHER THAN AFTER MOVING OUT OF STATE FOUR YEARS AGO THE OWNER FINDS IT DIFFICULT TO GIVE THE BUSINESS THE ATTENTION IT DESERVES.
NEXT TWO MONTHS PLEASE STOP BY FOR A LAST CHANCE TO GET YOUR FINGER TIPS DIRTY AS WE SELL OFF INVENTORY AT BARGAIN BASEMENT PRICES.
