    Description

This a ready to run model of an HO scale EMD GP-9 diesel powered locomotive with the early Hi-F rubber band drive lettered for the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad in the "Zebra Stripe" paint scheme. This model was released by Athearn in their line of locomotives in September of 1957, and it is now long out of production. The truck side frames are all metal. The motor has been tested and runs well, but needs new rubber bands. Engine has all of the original hand rails installed but is missing the horns. Engine is in the original yellow box with the GP-9's on the trestle cover picture. This is one of the rarest of the early Athearn boxes. Pictures show both sides of the engine, front and rear views, the chassis, loco in the box, the box end panel, and the cover picture. Don't miss a chance to get these out of production vintage engine at a great price. Buyer pays for priority mail padded flat rate envelope shipping. Payment must be made within seven days of item close. I will combine shipping on multiple purchases.
