    This is a 24 gauge 8 inch stainless steel weather cap. I label it a weather cap because if you live in Maine like I do, you have more types of weather than rain!! Snow, sleet, hail, etc., will be blocked as well as pesky critters that want to make your chimney a home!! The seams are welded, not riveted for superior strength. This weather cap is stainless steel, 304 grade, with an 18 gauge stainless steel screen so it will never rust.
