Badgemaster® is a heavy weight water soluble backing that dissolves completely in warm water. Embroidery is done directly on the material for lace and heirloom embroidery or used as a backing for cut work embroidery.
Directions for Free Standing Lace
1. Cut a piece of Badgemaster® to size and hoop.
2. Embroider a design that has been digitized for free standing lace directly on to Badgemaster®.
3. Remove from hoop and trim away the excess Badgemaster® with a pair of scissors to avoid stress on the design.
4. Soak the embroidered design in warm water until you have achieved the desired softness*.
5. Allow to dry.
*If you plan to shape your design, soak for less time, leaving some residue in the design in order to hold the shape once it has dried.
